Coalition for Work With Psycho-Trauma & Peace
Who are we and what is our mission
Our vision is a world in which all people are treated with respect and kindness,
in which compassion and empathy are the guiding principles
Who
are
We?
We work with the psychological issues of war victims, asylum seekers and others experiencing trauma, both on-site in Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina; as well as online in other places.
We believe that work with psychological trauma is a prerequisite to creating peace, to (re-) integration, and to preventing violence in the future.
We are all brought together by the need to do something to alleviate and heal the trauma of war in the former republic of Yugoslavia after the early 1990s. Now more than 25 years after starting working with refugees and civilian and military victims of war, we are beginning to look at challenges in other parts of our world. All people within the Coalition for Work with Psychotrauma and Peace are volunteers and receive only remuneration of their costs.
The CWWPP seeks to strengthen civil society by helping people to overcome the trauma of war and other social and natural disturbances and to become active participants in rebuilding society.
Our vision is a world in which conflicts would be solved by peaceful means. Our vision is a world in which all people are treated with respect and kindness, in which compassion and empathy are the guiding principles.
